My Baby Heads to School.
I know it is completely cliche, but it seems like yesterday that this little girl was placed into my arms for the first time and now here she is, heading off to her first day of 1st grade. It has been a little bit emotional for me. Kindergarten was no big deal, 1st grade is the big time. She is gone from home for too long and I miss her too much. My only reprieve is that she loves it, she is so excited to go to school, meet new friends, learn new things, have three recesses, and eat in the school cafeteria. She will do just fine, and I'm sure I will too :)

Miller Baby #4
If you haven't heard already, we are crazy people and are going to welcome another little Miller baby into our home in January. I have actually been feeling pretty good, especially compared to my other three pregnancies. Everyone's first question is usually, "Do you want a boy?", the answer is yes, I would like a boy, I would also like a girl, preferably it will come out and be a baby :)
Graduation Time
She did it! Izzy graduated from Kindergarten! It was such a fun year, she loved school, and loved making new friends. She is so excited for first grade in a few weeks, mostly because she gets to eat lunch at school and go to recess three times! Way to go Izzy!
Lucy also graduated from preschool! The picture is not great, she's the one in the middle for those who don't know. This basically sums up how she did in the program :) She said her name all cute at the beginning but I'm not sure I heard her again for the rest of the program, I think she got a bit of stage fright. We are so proud of Lucy and all that she has done this year in preschool. We love her teacher Miss Alison and cannot wait for school to start up again!
Izzy's Dance Recital
Izzy had her big dance recital in May. The pictures are kind of far away, she is the one on the far right. She did such a good job, she knew the dance really well and hardly had to look at her teacher. They danced to the song, "Mr. Big Stuff", she did all of the moves super exaggerated, it had me cracking up the whole time. She is such a talented little girl and it's so fun to watch her preform and have fun!
She Had a Birthday!
Little Miss Lucy had a birthday this May, she requested a Lady Bug party so I did my best :) We invited the whole family and did a lady bug pinata, lady bug cupcakes, and cake. She loved being the center of attention! We love you Lu!

Didn't she come with an instruction manual?
'cause if she did, I totally lost it. I need some Mom advice in a major way. I may regret asking for it because I will be the first to admit that I am a total know-it-all. I don't ask for advice because I know everything, always, and I don't need help, ever :) With that disclaimer, I am welcoming any and all ideas about how to raise this child.
Today I thought she had been kidnapped. Like, seriously kidnapped, no joking. She disappeared. After looking through the entire house I decided she must have been outside, she wasn't in our driveway and she wasn't across the street looking for the scary cat with one eye that she loves. I went to all the neighbors in order of how fun their house is, we all know that's what she would be looking for. After coming up empty handed and checking the house top to bottom one more time I started to flip out, every terrible thing that could happen raced through my mind and I started to lose it. More of my neighbors saw me cry today then I would have liked. After sprinting to the nearby park and not finding her I got a call from Izzy letting me know that she found her and she was safe. I rushed home to find her covered with my make-up, literally from head to toe. Apparently she had been hiding in the house and didn't want to come out because she knew she was being naughty. It was about this time that I realized that this kid is going to send me to an early grave. I cannot handle the stress. Something has to give. I am open to any and all ideas. I've probably tried them but it's worth putting it out there.
Lucy is such a special little girl, with many unique talents. Sean and I always joke that she is going to grow up to be a noble peace prize winner or a European dictator; we hope she uses her powers for good. She has what some would call "street smarts", she is a crazy good climber, and I'm pretty sure her pain receptors are set up all wrong. She is fiercely independent and creative. She will do what she wants when and how she wants. She does not need to please, she couldn't care less what other people (i.e. her mother) want her to do. Her attention span is short as is her fuse. Warnings, threats, bribes, time-outs, all have minimal affects on her. She is super talkative and loves to explore her world. I'm not sure she has any concept of right or wrong, and if she does, she doesn't care. She is extremely loving and loves to cuddle.
I hate to say it but if she were an only child we probably wouldn't be in this mess. I would have more time to be with her one on one and maybe channel that energy of hers more efficiently, but she's not, she's one of three and that's what we have to deal with. It's not realistic that I sit with her every waking moment, it's not possible. I'm just not sure what to do to help make our lives more manageable. At this point I'm just kind of rambling but if anyone has any ideas for me, I am officially open to them.
