Big Sister Izzy

So I think that I have the sweetest 2 year old ever. I knew she would be really good with the new baby, I had no idea just how good she would be. She loves to help with everything, and it's a good helpful, not a scary helpful. She loves to tell me just what she needs. These pictures are from Lucy's first bath where Izzy did all the work except for the hair washing. I could not ask for a more gentle and loving daughter. I know that she was sent to me first for a reason, she is a fabulous big sister!

Introducing....

Lucy Cameron Miller
She finally made her way here on Monday weighing in at 8 lbs 5oz and 21 inches long. We are so happy to have her in our family! She is so sweet and aside from being super tired we are all doing well.

Get out already!

So I love being a mom. It's the best thing that I have EVER done, it challenges me like nothing else and fulfills me like nothing else and even though there is room for improvement, I think I am a pretty good mom, it's what I was born to do. That being said, I HATE being pregnant, any and all ill effects of pregnancy happen to me. I won't go into detail I'm sure you are all sick of hearing me complain but it's pretty bad. I can't stand women who say they love being pregnant or even worse that they feel better/prettier/more energized while pregnant...I seriously want to kill them. It is frustrating to me that it is so hard for me to carry my children when I want to have so many of them, I'm not sure how many more times I can actually be this way for 9 months at a time. Although it's hard I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve my kids in this way, I've never been asked to sacrifice so much for something. I hope that one day they will understand how huge it was for me and how much more I love them because of that sacrifice. Anyways, sorry for the random ramblings on pregnancy, I'm just super ready to have this baby and am feeling a little anxious/thoughtful. As of today I'm 3 1/2 cm dilated and 70% effaced (I know lots of you know women who were dilated like a 5 for 2 months but I don't want your negative energy right now) so everyone cross their fingers that the next Miller will be making her earthly debut very soon.

On a side note- I love my new neighborhood. My cute neighbor Leslie (who doesn't even know me that well) just called to see how I was doing and told me I could call her anytime day or night to take Izzy if we needed her and she was serious, not like those people you can tell aren't that sincere and offer to help but you would feel weird if you actually asked them for help (I'm not trying to trash talk anyone, I think I end up in this category more often then naught). She is just so awesome and it makes me so happy to know that we have such great neighbors!

Garden Party!

This Saturday was a big day at the Miller household...we planted our first garden. This is huge because both Sean and I have wanted a garden forever but we have been stuck in tiny apartments for so long that it was always impossible. We even tried to grow some tomatoes in big pots once but it was pretty much a disaster. It was so awesome to be able to plant something on our OWN soil. Izzy was a big help getting all the weeds out and shoveling random dirt. She also had a lot of fun putting the Miracle Grow in the holes before we planted. We planted tomatoes (way too many), cucumbers, onions, honeydew, pumpkin, and a variety of squash. A huge thank you to Rachel and my mom who helped me weed, pick out plants, and plant the garden, I couldn't have done it without you (like literally because I am as big as a whale right now). I put this gross picture of me up to document that I did in fact plant a garden when I was 9+ months preggers.

Soccer

So I included a picture of my cute Izzy in the slide show yesterday in her new soccer uniform but forgot to mention anything about it; my three year old is totally on a soccer team. They haven't started yet but Sean put her uniform on the other day to play outside in the backyard. I am probably way more excited about it then she is but I think she is going to have so much fun. The other day she said to me, "mom, I want to play soccer today", (she doesn't get that we have to wait for the season to start) it was one of the best things I've ever heard. I loved soccer while I played and I am so excited for Izzy to get to play, she loves to run and loves to play with other kids so I think that even if she doesn't get it at all she will still love it. I'll keep everyone posted about when her games are so you can all come cheer on the cutest soccer player EVER!

It's been awhile....

April has been a pretty busy month with a ton of blog worthy things happening but I just haven't found the time to do it. Sean had a birthday, we moved in to a new house, and we both graduated from the U; good times were had by all this month. Please enjoy this little slide show, and hopefully my next post won't take another 3 weeks.

p.s. I hate to cheat Sean out of a post dedicated to his graduation so I just want everyone to know how hard he has worked the last 3 years and how proud I am of him. Every time I start feeling sorry for myself about how hard it is to have a husband that is in law school I have to remind myself that it was 10x harder to be the husband in law school. Thanks for all you do for us baby we love you!
