Not cool!

What's not cool you ask? It's not cool that Rachel lives in Lehi, that's a whole hour away from me. It's especially not cool because she is going to have her cute little boy soon and an hour away is just too far away for him to be. Also, how are we going to do awesome stay at home mom things together when she is clear the heck out there!
It's not cool that Bethany thinks she needs to go off and get married and then move to Massachusetts, I mean, really!? Who is going to go on Costco runs with me and eat hotdogs that we both know we are going to be burping up for the rest of the day? Who is going to help me secretly drink Diet Coke while I'm pregnant? Who is going to constantly talk my ear off about her wedding (hopefully this won't happen since the wedding is over). The only reason I have allowed this move is so that I can come out to Boston and visit but I'm going to come right home from my trip and start being mad about it immediately! The nerve!
It's not cool that Kayla thinks she needs to move back up to Logan to go to school so she can get a "real" job. Jobs are totally overrated anyways, and hasn't Logan had her for too long? Who is going to put up with all my craziness, surely Sean cannot handle it all on his own? Who is going to take care of my kids when I have my next serious allergic reaction to penicillin? How will I find out what is going on with her friends and their love lives that for some reason I care about now? Who will be Lucy's surrogate mother? She won't know what to do without her! Who will seriously entertain crazy ideas like opening up a cupcake shop with me? Who will be there for me always, for whatever I need, to let me be myself, to be my sister and friend?
For the record, all of my sisters leaving me is so not cool.

Good thing I have this amazing sister-in-law to keep me company while all my other sisters abandon me!

Wanderlust

Somebody planted the little tiny seed of hope that we might get a chance to go here and now it is all I can think about. Why did it take me until I had kids, real jobs, pets, and all sorts of real responsibilities, to get the travel bug? I can't wait for our next adventure babe (wherever that might be).

Five year olds....go to Kindergarten!

Somehow Izzy has gotten the idea that life drastically changes when you turn five. I find her telling Lucy all the things that five year olds can and can't do. For example, apparently now that she is five she "doesn't play so much", I guess she is too mature now to play some of their old games :) So funny.
One thing she is right about is that five year olds get to go to Kindergarten! She had her first day yesterday and it went great. The first day is kind of a false start, she went one day and then goes back tomorrow for testing and then doesn't really start until Monday. She was so excited and had a ton of fun. She randomly got put right across from her friend Merc from up the street and her friend Rachel sits right behind her so she wasn't nervous at all.
Sending my oldest child to Kindergarten is supposed to be a big emotional deal for me, right? It's not. It's exciting for sure, and it does mark the start of our adventure into the public school system but I'm just not anxious about it at all. Izzy is ready. So ready. Maybe too ready. I'm pretty sure she is a genius, but I'm her Mom so it's my job to think that. She thrives in a structured group environment and loves to make friends. She is a strong and sturdy little lady and she will learn and grow and have fun.

It's great to be "5"!

My little Sweets turned 5 this past week. Holy cow! Somehow she morphed from a toddler to a little lady overnight. We had an amazing birthday week with swimming, breakfast in bed, a cowgirl birthday party, and plenty of family time.

Her party was a huge success, complete with a pony! I'm still not sure how I talked Sean into that one. I always wanted a pony for my birthday party when I was little, I think I might have been more excited about it then she was.

Her new Pillow Pet from Mommy and Daddy. She has wanted this forever (thanks tv commercials). The first time she saw the commercial she came running into my bedroom like the house was on fire and says, "Mom there is this pillow and it's a pet and it's easy to clean, it can go in the washing machine and you can even take it to Grandma's house!" She was SO happy when she got it, it made me feel a little less like a total sucker for buying her something she saw on t.v.

I love this little girl with everything I have. She is amazing. She is so sweet and just wants to be loving and kind and receive love in return. She has a strong desire to learn what is right and good. She has been amazingly strong throughout all of the struggles we've had as a family. She tagged along with me while I went to school, she was my constant companion when Sean was gone all the time, she tried desperately to help me feel better during two pregnancies, she has been my little rock. I'm so excited to watch her learn and grow and experience all her new adventures this year. We love you Izzy!

Olive- 4 months

Olive had her 4 month check up today and passed with flying colors. She is 16% in weight and 47% in height. She is taking naps during the day like a champ but wakes up at LEAST once during the night still. She is getting stronger everyday and is not quite so wobbly. She is such a sweet baby, she loves to be held, especially by Mommy. She has started to smile so much and is trying really hard to laugh, it mostly sounds like she is coughing but we know it's giggles. The girls are so in love with her and she finally seems to know that they exist. Lucy loves to get right in her face and mumble to her in my baby talk voice. I guess she has learned that that's just how you talk to babies, it's so cute! We love having little Olive in our family. Once again I have been blessed with the sweetest little princess (which worries me a bit since Lucy was a great baby too but once she started walking the craziness began!) I love her so much and am having a blast watching all her firsts and the fun things that each new day brings.

P.S. Please don't judge me because my baby is not strapped into her car seat very well in the above pic, we were walking around town and not driving in the car :)

Entrepreneur

I'm not sure where Izzy learned about lemonade stands but the other day she decided that she wanted to have one. She got together with her "business partners" and made a cute sign and set up shop. Apparently after the moms and sisters came and bought lemonade there was a little lag in business, so what does every good business woman do? Go door to door to recruit some customers. I'm not sure what their pitch was but it must have been good because they made about $4 in under an hour. It might have had something to do with the generous tips from the neighbor across the street and the garbage man. She had so much fun that she has wanted to open the stand everyday this week, I had to explain to her that the demand for lemonade might not be that great (and that neighbors may run out of pocket change to give her).
